Scope and content: This subseries contains drafts and published copies of Walker's works of
non-fiction which appeared in magazines and periodicals including The Atlantic Advocate and The
Star Weekly. His "On Choosing Canada" (1959) reflects on his early life, his career in the British
army, and his decision to emigrate to Canada. In "A New Venture, A New Beginning," Walker
analyzes his method and styles of writing and offers advice to beginning novelists. "The Wavell
Rock" (1965) provides details about Lord Wavell's distinguished career, Walker's years in India,
and their friendship.
